Whispering Heart
There are times when our bodies are trying to find us, if we only listened!
Last weekend, I’d experienced something along the lines of a “disturbance in The Force” in Star Wars Speak - a subtle signal from my body, a tightness in the left shoulder, a slight pain in the chest and a vague sense that something was awry with this cocktail of sensation and feeling. To act or not to act was the question, whether it was nobler to just sit tight and let it pass, or make waves on a sea of troubles - be the kvetch, the complainer, the boy who cried wolf. Yet my body had spoken, albeit in a language I couldn’t quite parse. It was doing the best it could, transmitting a warning - not a trumpet blast, more like a violin playing a soft melody with one string out of tune. Or a whisper. I called my wife, she agreed and we drove to the emergency room. A coronary angioplasty procedure revealed a 9o% blockage in one of the arteries delivering blood to my heart. They put a stent in the artery and it very likely saved my life. Our bodies may well be whispering to us all the time; all we need to do is understand their language better.

Whew! Glad you are OK!
